Product Description

Bach Flower Remedies were created by Edward Bach, a British scientist and physician, in the 1930's. Dr. Bach felt that he was often treating physical ailments whose origins could be traced to an underlying emotional state - grief, fear, stress, etc. - and that without addressing that emotional state, you could only achieve incomplete cures of the physical problem.

After studying the curative effects of flowers, Dr. Bach identified a group of 38 flower essences that each worked on a specific emotional state. (They're all separate and distinct with one exception: Rescue Remedy, a mixture of 5 individual remedies created by Dr. Bach as a sort of "emotional first aid kit.")

Safe, gentle and effective for people and animals of all ages - even plants!

Indications for Use of the Remedies with Animals

ChicoryIndication - Possessive/territorial in nature, manipulatively affectionate/loving in order to be in control.  Outcome - a more unselfish, self-assured, loving animal.

OakIndication - Struggling bravely through difficulties (including injury, illness), trying to continue with normal activities or helping/pleasing others when it's clearly very difficult to do so.  Outcome - Helps a temporarily immobilized animal (immobilized by injury, for example) to be patient until strength is regained.  Helps the "helper" animal (such as assistance or rescue dogs) who may find it very difficult not to be able to do for their person what they have been expected to do.

WalnutIndication - For any period of change or transition.  New home, going on a trip, new member welcomed into the family, loss of a member of the family.  Outcome - Helps the animal ease into its new surroundings or situation.

Individual customized flower essence remedies can be easily made and used with great effectiveness by selecting up to 5-6 remedies best indicated for a particular situation.  For example, a mixture of aspen, star of Bethlehem, walnut and honeysuckle might be helpful to an animal just adopted from a shelter.  A mixture of holly, walnut and honeysuckle might be indicated for an animal having difficulty accepting a new family member.

We don't recommend dosing directly from the stock bottle, simply because it's unnecessary, no more effective than using a more dilute solution, and because the alcohol used to preserve the remedy in the stock bottle might irritate your animal's skin or gums.  Simply put about 2 drops of the remedy (or remedies) you select into a 1 oz. dropper bottle which you then fill with distilled or spring water.  Shake vigorously.  This bottle becomes the dosing bottle, and it can be kept up to 2 weeks in the refrigerator.  As an optional preservative you may add about 1 tsp. apple cider vinegar, which will extend this time a bit longer.  (Use the link above for more information regarding preparing customized remedies.)
